Genre Trends for Writers in 2025
Are you an author? Do you want to be an author? Well, the most important thing... at least in terms of story... is to pick the genre you want to write about. Romance... anything: No surprise that any form of romance novel is still highly popular. I mean. we even did a video on it on our YouTube site. While it is a saturated genre, if you want an almost automatic yes for a book... head towards this genre.
History.. or more like Rewritten Historical Fiction: A lot of readers are into reimaginings of historical stories... think Austen or Dickens... because, well, it hits a lot of people very well. It's the idea of being in the past without having to actually have lived through it.
Cozy Style: Have you heard of cozy mysteries? Of course you have, they are everywhere. The reason why people love these is because it's an easy and usually short read that makes them feel good or happy. And as an author, I would think that's exactly the feel you want to get out of your readers.
