Today is the birthday of the author who created the basis of horror and mystery for a general populace. Edgar Allan Poe, a man synonymous with creepy. Whether its works such as The Raven or his influence on mystery writing way before Sherlock Holmes, Poe created works that not only terrified but still stand strong amongst literature today.
