When Is News Helpful In Finding What You Want?

So as I go about my work day, I notice that when searching for new information about say a book or an author, or even some good nerdy content, I tend to find old news. Stuff that might be popular but not new.

The reason this is a problem, as anyone who posts or records knows, is that when your audience wants fresh, you need to have that right information.

So today I am asking: How often do you find your research to be helpful and do you always use one or two sources for it?
